Where does the money go?

The proceeds of funds raised through the Kokoda Challenge finance the cost of the Kokoda Challenge Youth Program, which includes training and bush camps for the Kokoda Kids and travel and equipment for the trip to Papua New Guinea to walk the Kokoda Track.

In 2009, 42 Kokoda Kids from the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Tweed branches of the KCYP - all of which travelled to Papua New Guinea.  To read more about the KCYP click here

It is hoped that with contintual support and success of the Kokoda Challenge - KCYP branches will be established all over Australia and hundreds of young people will be able to be part of the life changing program.

The other objective of the Kokoda Challenge Association is to raise the profile of Kokoda and as such some of the funds raised will be directed to purchasing a book on Kokoda for each High School across Queensland.

Finally, a small percentage of funds raised will be allocated to support the villages along the Kokoda Track, the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels and their descendants. A little over 60 years ago the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels in New Guinea lent our Diggers a hand in our hour of need. Today, the descendents of these wonderful people need a hand from us.
