Successful Australian Company Supports Local Charity
Gold Coast based construction company, Spantech, specialising in the design and construction of wide span curved roofs have kindly donated the proceeds from their Annual Charity Golf Day to the Kokoda Youth Foundation, to the amount of $5000.
Spantech have been a long-term supporter of the Kokoda Youth Foundation, assisting with construction at the Camp Kokoda outdoor education facility and registering teams in the Kokoda Challenge Events over five years during which time their total fundraising has exceeded $60,000.
Their team was the leading fundraiser in 2014 Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge, raising more than $23,000 and earning a trip to walk the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Spantech CEO, Dick Lucas, was part of the team who completed both the 96km Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge and the Kokoda Track in PNG, the memories from which have had a distinct impression.
“We learned invaluable lessons about ourselves, a deeper understanding of our team members and respect and appreciation of the Spirit of Kokoda” he said.
“Most importantly, we were able to contribute to changing the lives of Australian youth through a local charity.”
We are incredibly grateful for Spantech's ongoing support of our foundation and the values we are creating within our community.
