Night training hike
Our Kokoda Challenge teams met again at Nerang State Forest for an afternoon and evening training hike, completing an impressive 19 km. As the sun set, students continued their hike into the night, giving them valuable experience walking in the dark—an important part of the Kokoda Challenge, where a significant portion of the event takes place overnight.
The teams showed great determination and worked well together throughout the hike, continuing to build their fitness, resilience and confidence with every training session.
It was also an exciting day as everyone received their official team shirts. The students were proud to put them on, and they are looking forward to representing the school on challenge day.
Training Continues!
Yesterday our Kokoda Challenge teams met bright and early at 7:00 am for a 15 km practice hike through the Nerang State Forest. The weather was excellent for walking, although parts of the track were a little muddy from recent rain.
It was a really positive day, with all students showing great enthusiasm and a willingness to challenge themselves. The group maintained a strong pace throughout the hike, supported and encouraged one another, and represented the team well.

They have provided these fully-funded programs to hundreds of young people since 2004, thanks to the help of Kokoda Challenge participants, like us.
