As you do the walk remember those who walked the actual trail, carrying heavy packs and rifles. They slid through mud up and down huge mountains. They were poorly supplied and provisioned , suffered dysentery, disease and death and at the end of their struggles were denigrated by their commander in chief, Thomas Blamey, as "rabbits" who ran from fire. A poor commander who deserved no respect and of dubious repute.
