The Fireflies are a decentralized revolutionary militia in The Last of Us fighting to topple FEDRA military dictatorships, restore democratic government, and manufacture a cure for the Cordyceps brain infection. To a broken world, their rallying cry is: "When you’re lost in the darkness, look for the light."
We are the spark in the ash. While FEDRA enforces martial law and lets humanity rot in the dark, we fight to bring back a free world. We don't just survive—we build, we research, and we look toward a future where a child’s fate isn't decided by a fungus. Our name is our purpose: in absolute darkness, we produce our own light.
We are scattered across the Quarantine Zones, easily identified by the dog-tag [Firefly Pendants](https://www.ign.com/wikis/the-last-of-us-part-1/Firefly Pendants) we wear and the glowing bug spray-painted on ruined walls. We’re willing to make the ultimate sacrifices—even the most unthinkable ones—because we believe a vaccine is the only way to save humanity from itself.
