About
Courage, Endurance, Mateship, Sacrifice… and Unicorns!
On 18 July, I’ll be taking on the 48 km Kokoda Challenge through the Gold Coast Hinterland with my team of four Year 12 students: the Stretton Sparkling Unicorns.
Yes, the team name was their choice. Yes, there is a very real chance I may end up walking with rainbow hair.
The Kokoda Challenge is one of Australia’s toughest team endurance events, but we’re not just hiking for ourselves. We’re walking to raise funds for the Kokoda Youth Foundation, which runs fully-funded, life-changing programs for young people across Australia.
These programs help young people build confidence, resilience, leadership, and connection through outdoor experiences grounded in the Kokoda values of Courage, Endurance, Mateship and Sacrifice. Since 2004, the Kokoda Youth Foundation has supported hundreds of young people through these programs, made possible by the fundraising efforts of Kokoda Challenge participants and their communities.
This cause means a lot to my students, and I’m proud to be walking alongside them as they challenge themselves for something bigger than the finish line.
Any donation, big or small, will help support more young people to realise their potential. Thank you for backing our team and the Kokoda Youth Foundation.

Can't wait to see photos of the hair!
