Looking to Register Your School?
The involvement of school teams is a highlight of the Kokoda Challenge. We are excited to announce that this year, alike previous, will include the involvement of many local and regional schools.
The Kokoda Challenge encourages school kids to form strong friendships with their peers. Kids are challenged with mid-week and weekend training schedules that help them get in touch with nature whilst maintaining a healthy school routine.
COURAGE
ENDURANCE
MATESHIP
SACRIFICE
These values are at the core of everything we do. For students to witness and experience these values, rich in action, will teach them more than you can imagine.
Kokoda Challenge Events structure the preparation for the event as a program that is aligned with the Australian Curriculum. It is suggested for schools that are new to the events to start at a realistic distance that is achievable and relative to the training that has been put in.

The Bruce Steel Kingsbury VC Fundraising Cup!
Named after Kokoda Veteran Bruce Steel Kingsbury of the 2/14th Battalion who was awarded the Victoria Cross which is the Commonwealth’s highest decoration for bravery.
This cup along with medallions, certificates and a merchandise kit, will be awarded to the team that raises the largest fundraising amount across all events. This is the ULTIMATE title as it reflects the hard work and effort put in by kids, schools and their local communities.
The fundraising component of the Kokoda Challenge is often forgotten during the training process. By reminding kids of the Kokoda Spirit and value of giving back to the community, we hope to raise awareness of the Kokoda Youth Foundations purpose; to change the lives of Aussie youth.
