Your safety is paramount to us! Please consider these eight training essentials before heading out to train and taking on the Kokoda Challenge:
- If training at night, always wear and pack the required equipment ie Headtorch, torch, maps or warm clothes
- If you do not have the required equipment for night walks, plan to complete your walk well before dark
- Take a torch or headlamp in case you are unexpectedly delayed
- Plan your route and download your intended route on your GPS before going out into the field (or take a map)
- Keep in mind that mobile phone coverage is limited, so please download your maps before starting your hike
- Try and avoid slippery conditions, by not training after heavy rainfall
- Take a suitable First Aid Kit
- Always train with a teammate!
