Do not go training without these eight essentials!

Your safety is paramount to us! Please consider these eight training essentials before heading out to train and taking on the Kokoda Challenge: 

  1. If training at night, always wear and pack the required equipment ie Headtorch, torch, maps or warm clothes
  2. If you do not have the required equipment for night walks, plan to complete your walk well before dark
  3. Take a torch or headlamp in case you are unexpectedly delayed
  4. Plan your route and download your intended route on your GPS before going out into the field (or take a map)
  5. Keep in mind that mobile phone coverage is limited, so please download your maps before starting your hike
  6. Try and avoid slippery conditions, by not training after heavy rainfall 
  7. Take a suitable First Aid Kit
  8. Always train with a teammate!
